Chico’s The Long Shirt
This new commercial for Chico’s Long Shirts tells us about this new important new fashion trend. The name of the actress shown modeling the long shirts is model Magali Amadei. The name of the song that plays is a short version (only two lines) of All ‘Cause of You performed by The 88.
Lyrics to the song in the commercial:
These are the words from the edited part of the song that is played during the commercial:
I’ve been moving cause my heart is true.. and it’s all ’cause of you
What the announcer says:
Go long, look lean in this season’s most important fashion trend, the Long Shirt. Designed to flatter with playful hemlines and length for everybody.

Phrases in this TV commercial and what they really mean:
- What the announcer said: Go long, look lean
- What some people might think that means: If I wear a Long Shirt, I will look lean (skinny) just like the model in the commercial.
- What it actually means: The wording does infer that buy wearing a Long Shirt you will “look lean”, however unless you already have a body like the very slim model in this commercial, chances are you are not going to look like her while wearing one of these shirts.
This commercial is primarily intended to introduce us to the new Long Shirts, but the wording combined with the very thin model seems to infer that these shirts may make you look more ‘lean’ that they actually do.
