(AT&T girl): No long term agreement.
(Customer): Really? Ok, so what’s the catch?
(AT&T girl): There is no catch

Claims made by AT&T:
- You can get an AT&T plan for your smartphone for only $45 a month

The Fine Print:
The following fine-print is displayed near the end of the commercial for 5 seconds:
$45 for 300 MB data & unlimited talk & text with 1 smartphone with no annual contract. Additional monthly charge per device & for additional data. Activation/upgrade & other fees & restrictions apply. Subject to change. Visit a store for other requirements.
What the fine print means:
The $45 per month plan provides unlimited talking and text, but only 300 MB of data (for web browsing, email, watching videos, etc). It applies only to one smartphone. You must also pay more to activate or sign up for this plan, they can change these details whenever they want, and there are other fees and restrictions that you can only find out about by going into a store.
It is also important to remember that this plan does not include a smartphone. Traditional plans have the cost of a smartphone rolled-in, effectively financing the smartphone. This is partially why the cost is so much higher. With the plans discussed in this commercial, you must have your one phone or purchase one separately.
